GSC Track and Field Compete at Concord Invitational

The Glenville State College Men and Women’s Track and Field team competed at Concord University Invitational on Friday March 26th. It was a cold day for running but the GSC Track team ran well despite the numbing weather.

Miranda Reed and Nicole Himes placed 2nd and 3rd in the Women’s 400 Meter Dash, while Candance Butler finished 3rd in the Women’s 5000 Meter run.  Also on the Women’s side freshman Marteney Jacobs placed 3rd in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Jacobs also placed 2nd in the Women’s High Jump.
Glenville took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Women’s Shot Put, placing Cindy Hillberry, Alicia Cayton, and Chelsea Tripp.
One the Men’s side in the 100 Meter Dash GSC finished one and two with Ahkeem Figgs placing 1st and Joe Mesadieu placed 2nd. Adam Leonard took 1st place in the 200 Meter Dash. While Jordan Swiger placed 1st in the Men’s High Jump and Chris Freeman placed 1st in the Discus Throw.
Overall the Pioneers ran well in the meet on the Women’s and Men’s side, they return to action April 3rd when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit.
