The GSC Lady Pioneers women’s golf team finished 7th out of the 10 teams at the WVIAC Southern Regional on April 17th & 18th at Big Bend Golf Course.
The Lady Pioneers were led by Sammi Moore as she shot a 170 during the tournament. Moore shot an 88 on day one and an 82 during day two. Alex Fitzwater shot a 199 for GSC, on day one she finished with a 104 and finished day two with a 95.
Olivia Ferrell finished with a 228 as she shot a 117 on day one and shot a 111 on day two.
Morgan Talbott finished with a 240 during the two day tournament and Candace Butler finished with a 386. GSC posted a total score of (432-405) 837 for the tournament.
Wheeling Jesuit came in first as they placed a 667 total score while West Liberty totaled a (339-329) for a 668 for its second-place finish. Concord recorded a third-place effort (344-330) for a total of 677.
West Liberty’s Emily Taylor earned the league’s Player of the Year honors.
