Softball Splits Two Games with West Liberty

On Saturday April 17th the Glenville State College Lady Pioneer Softball team traveled to West Liberty State University for a double header against the Hilltoppers.
In game one the Lady Pioneers fell to the Hilltoppers by a score of 4-5. It was a very close game. The Lady Pioneers managed 7 hits in the game. Brittany Handley went 2 for 4 and also stole 2 bases .
Erin Morgan, Leanne Harris, Karly Eskew, Stacy Mack, and Brooke Foster all recorded 1 hit in game one with Eskew’s hit being a homerun, also  Morgan, Eskew, Mack, and Foster also recorded an RBI as well.
Mandy Parkulo pitched 5 innings giving up 9 hits, 4 runs, and 1 strikeout in game one, also Laura Childers pitched 1 inning allowing 2 hits, 1 run, and no strikeouts.
In game two the Lady Pioneers got their bats swinging, as a team they managed 15 hits, with Erin Morgan going 3 for 5 with 2 RBI’s. Leanne Harris went 2 for 5 and had 2 RBI’s. Karly Eskew went 2 for 5 as well with 1 RBI.
Also for the Lady Pioneers Megan Lesser went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI, Katelyn Porter went 2 for 4, and Stacy Mack went 2 for 4 as well. Brittany Handley went 1 for 5 with 1 RBI and Christie Hittel went 1 for 4 in game two.
The Lady Pioneers won game two by a final score of 8-3. Laura Childers pitched 6 innings given up 6 hits, 3 runs, and 4 strikeouts, also freshman Jessica Fedor pitched 1 inning allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, and 0 strikeouts.
The Lady Pioneers will return to action on Sunday April 18th when D&E travels to Glenville, game one is set for 3:00PM and game two at 5:00PM.
