The Glenville State bats took off in a big way Tuesday night, as they scored 25 runs in a two game sweep of Ohio Valley. The 25 runs were more than the Lady Pioneers had scored in their previous eight contests.

In game one Christie Hittel and Karly Eskew drove in three runs apiece, while five other Pioneers drove in a run, in an 11-2 thrashing of the Lady Scots. In the circle, Laura Childers gained her second win in as many starts to improve to 3-5 for the season.

In game two Glenville used a five run first inning to set the pace as they again blew OVU away, 14-5. Freshman Jess Fedor started the game and worked three inning for her second straight win as well improving her mark to 7-6 this season.

At the Plate Erin Morgan went four for four, drove in a career high seven runs, and scored three of her own. Freshman Christie Hittel stayed hot from the opening contest hitting her first collegiate homerun, and recording another three RBI’s.

The win improved Glenville to 17-20 overall, and 5-3 in WVIAC play. The Lady Pioneers return to the diamond Thursday at home, as they host Wheeling Jesuit in a makeup contest from Sunday.
