Glenville State bouncing back from a rough split with Salem International on Wednesday handed Alderson-Broaddus their first confence setback of the season in game two Saturday, and fell just short in the opening contest.
In game one Mandy Parkulo worked all seven innings allowing two earned runs off six hits in a 2-1 loss, that saw AB score the winner in the bottom of the final inning. Glenville recorded seven hits, and put 11 different runners on base but could only muster one run, which came on a seventh inning RBI single by Erin Morgan that plated Brittney Handley.
In game two, GSC jumped all over the Lady Battlers, scoring six runs in their first three at bats, and prevailing 6-3, led by freshman sensation Jess Fedor. In the game Stacy Mack and Karly Eskew drove in two runs apiece.
