The Lady Pioneers traveled to Concord Thursday for their WVIAC opener, and led 13 out of 14 innings in two games. In game one Glenville put up three runs led by two RBI’s for Meagan James and one for Katelyn Porter.
Over the next six innings GSC would record three hits but couldn’t push across a run. Concord scored one in the second, one in the fourth, and received a two run walkoff homerun from Samantha Clement in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 win. The homerun came with a two outs and two strikes.
In game two freshman Jessica Fedor continued to shine working all seven innings allowing two earned runs off six hits and striking out a career high six. The win improved Fedor to 5-3 on the season. At the plate Leanne Harris, Meagan Lesser, and Erin Morgan all drove in a run.
Glenville State 12-14 (1-1 WVIAC) travels to Salem,VA for five game over three days starting Friday evening. The Pioneers will battle Edinboro and nationally ranked Bloomsburg at 5 and 7 PM Friday night.
