Third-ranked North Alabama quarterback Lee Chapple completed 37 of 47 passes for a school-record 447 yards as the Lions (2-0) won at Glenville State (1-1).
Seven different Lions caught at least four passes each to help UNA ring up 36 first downs and 591 yards of total offense.
Glenville State, which led 7-3 after one quarter, saw the visitors erupt for 28 second quarters thanks in part to a pair of Pioneer turnovers and a blocked punt.
A three-yard DeAndre Johnson rush on the game’s first possession capped off an 11-play, 83-yard drive and accounted for the lone GSC touchdown.
Brian Harden paced GSC with 68 yards on 14 rushes. Jordan Griffin added four catches for 50 yards.
