The 2010 Pioneer Cross Country teams traveled to Greensburg, PA for the SHU Griffin Classic this past Saturday. Krystle Bailey led the way for the Lady Pioneers, finishing the 5000 meter course in 26th place overall with a time of 23:36. Candace Butler set a new Cross Country PR (personal record) by running a 27:16, which was an improvement of 2 minutes and 42 seconds on this course from last year. The Lady Pioneers finished 6th overall.
In the men’s 8000 meter race, TJ Abel led the way for the Pioneers, finishing in 5th place overall with a time of 29:12. Dustin Wood came in 7th place in 29:25 and was followed closely by freshman teammate Ben Proudfoot in 8th at 29:30. Marlon Henry improved his time on this course from last year by 2 minutes and 15 seconds to finish 19th place in 31:21. The Pioneers took runner-up honors by finishing 2nd place to the host team, Seton Hill.
