The Lady Pioneers easily took a pair from WVIAC bottom dwellar Salem International this evening in wet conditions from GSC Field by a score of 10-0 and 6-1. Glenville State imrpoves to 11-5 in the WVIAC and 15-16 overall.
The Lady Pioners got three runs in the first and third innigns and then four in the fouth to run rule the Lady Tigers in five innings. Mandy Parkulo continued her scoreless innings streak as she pitched five innings, giving up just three runs while striking out three.
Candice White drove in three runs and Morgan Elswick and Kohle Maynard each drove in pair. Brittney Handley walked all three times up, scoring twice and stealing four bases.
Parkulo again kept the Lady Tigers bats silent as she gave up just one run in five innings, and GSC shook off a slow start to gain control late and coast to a 6-1 victory.
The Pioneers would go up 1-0 in the 2nd as Karly Eskew would score on a passed ball.
SIU would tie it up in the 4th Inning as Alicia Potts would drill a 1-1 drop pitch into left center field.
Glenville State would take the lead for good in the 4th as Brooke Foster woudl single to left to score White and Eskew.
GSC would add two more in the 5ht on a White home run and then a single run in the 6th on a Lindsay Smith pinch hit homer.
Elswick would walk two before retiring the side in the 7th for the win.
Both White and Foster would lead the way with 2 RBI’s apiece and Erin Morgan would collect two hits.
Before the 4th inning home run, Parkulo had pitched 24 innings without giving up a run, and 26 innings with out giving up an earned run.
Parkullo is now 10-12 on the season with a 2.79 Era.
