(GREENEVILLE, TN) — The Lady Pioneers softball team were plaqued by cold bats as they dropped their 2009 Season Opener by a count of 6-0 to Pfeiffer University in the first day of the Tusculum/Comfort Inn Classic. GSC would record just one hit and only have four runners reach base in the contest. Freshman Brittany Handley would reach base twice, reaching on a walk in the 3rd and a infield single to 3rd base in the 6th inning.
Mandy Parkulo went six innings, 6 runs, 4 earned, on 13 hits while walking 3 and striking out 3.
Glenville State returns to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. as they play WVIAC foe Ohio Valley. The weekend wraps up as they play the host Tusculum on Sunday at 4 p.m.
