The Glenville State College Cheerleaders were ‘All Fired Up!’ at the first home football game against Stonehill on Thursday, August 27, 2009. The 2009-2010 GSC Cheerleading team is being coached this year by former GSC Cheerleader, Kayla Boggs-White. She has 12 years of cheerleading/gymnastics experience, and is a 2004 graduate of Braxton County High School. Boggs-White cheered at Glenville State College from 2004-2008. She will be completing her degree in Secondary English Education (5-Adult) and will graduate in May of 2010. The new coach stated that “since the move to GSC Student Life; the new and improved GSC Cheerleading Squad has been rebuilding.” The cheer team is also said to have “new stunts” and that they are “looking forward to getting new uniforms by late football season into early basketball season.” Senior cheerleaders, Jerrica Caudill and Mary Skidmore agree that “this is going to be a very exciting year” for Glenville State Cheerleading and that all squad members are looking forward to a new beginning with coach Kayla Boggs-White and the GSC Student Life Staff.
