Danielle Woodmore scored 22 points as she led the Lady Pioneers to a huge win over the West Liberty University Hilltoppers 112-85.
The Lady Pioneers got out to a fast start as they took a quick 14-3 lead at 16:09 in the first half. They continued to play well the rest of the first half as they took a commanding led into halftime 60-43.
The Lady Pioneers never looked back as they cruised to a huge victory. They shot 50 percent form the floor and a season best 60 percent from behind the arc.
The Lady Pioneers defense also came into play as they held the Hilltoppers to only 28 percent from the floor and 31 percent from behind the arc; the GSC defense also caused 16 turnovers on the night.
The Lady Pioneers had six players score in double figures with Woodmore leading the way with 22 points while Mishae Miles scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double double on the night.
Tenisha Wilson also played well as she scored 12 points and dished out a game high 7 assist. Tiffany Huffman, Miranda Reed, and Kristen Golden all chipped in with 10 points.
West Liberty was led by Tori Hansen as she scored 25 and grabbed 8 rebounds while Laura Malernee chipped in with 18 points.
With the victory the Lady Pioneers move into first place in the WVIAC Conference. They will return to action Wednesday, February 23rd when they travel to battle West Virginia State, with game time set for 5:30PM.
