The Glenville State Lady Pioneers posted five players in double figures as they hold off a late surge by Concord University by a final of 104-92.
The Lady Pioneers got off to a fast start as they took a 17-4 lead at the 17:08 mark in the first half as freshman Kenyell Goodson drilled a three-pointer from the wing.
Beth Deren kept the Lady Pioneers in the driver seat in the first half as she scored 15 first half points, as the Lady Pioneers took a big lead into half 61-47.
The Concord University Lady Mountain Lions made a late surge but could only get within ten points as the Lady Pioneers sealed the win.
Danielle Woodmore led the Lady Pioneers attack as she scored 19 points and dished out a game high 7 assists. Tenisha Wilson and Mishae Miles both scored 18 points, with Miles just missing her third straight double double as she pulled down 9 rebounds.
Beth Deren finished the game with 17 points and Kim Stephens chipped in with 11 points.
Concord was led by Jolysa Brown as posted a double double with 22 points and 11 rebounds while Sidney Lindsey chipped in with 20 points.
The Lady Pioneers return to action this Saturday, February 19th at home when they battle West Liberty, game time is set for 5:30PM. All fans are encouraged to wear white for a white-out; also all fans in white will receive admission.
