Lady Pioneers Pull off Comeback against West Virginia Wesleyan

Mishae MilesAutumn Davis scored 15 second half points to help the Lady Pioneers pull off a come from behind victory against the West Virginia Wesleyan College Lady Bobcats on Thursday night 97-76.

Davis went 5 for 5 from behind the arc to give the Lady Pioneers the spark they need. The Lady Pioneers got down by nine points at the half 34-43.
The Lady Pioneers came out after halftime and was determined to get the win. They took the lead for good at the 12:30 mark in the second half after Beth Deren drilled a deep three pointer to give the Lady Pioneers a two point lead.
Mishae Miles scored a game high 20 points to lead the Lady Pioneers in scoring; she also grabbed 10 rebounds on the night as she posted a double double for GSC.
Also for GSC Danielle Woodmore, Tenisha Wilson, and Autumn Davis all scored 15 points on the night while Woodmore also dished out a game high 7 assist.
Freshman Kenyell Goodson chipped in with 10 points.
The Lady Bobcats were led by Jamie Kaufman as she scored 20 points while Lydia Bridenbaugh chipped in with 19 points.
It really was a tail of two halves for the Lady Pioneers as they only scored 34 first half points and shot only 28 percent, but in the second half they out scored the Lady Bobcats 63-33 and ended the game shooting 38 percent.
With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 16-6 (14-3) on the year. They will take the court again on Saturday, February 12th when they travel to the University of Charleston for a WVIAC showdown with a conference championship on the line; game time is set for 6:00PM.
