The Lady Pioneers extended their two game win streak to three on Monday night and stayed a perfect 7-0 at home as they defeated the Bluefield State Lady Blues 116-46.
The Lady Pioneers came out of the gates slow, but went on a 12-1 run at the 13:42 mark in the first half.
Kim Stephens led the Lady Pioneers in scoring with 24 points. She got going in the first half as she scored 15 consecutive points for GSC, hitting three 3 pointers and three jumpers.
The Lady Pioneers also had five other players score in double figures with Autumn Davis scoring 16 points, while Mishae Miles posted a double-double with 13 points and a game high 11 rebounds; and Kenyell Goodson and Tenisha Wilson both added 12 points.
Danielle Woodmore chipped in with 11 points on the night. LaToya Hambrick also grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, and Miranda Reed dished out a game high 10 assists. Kristen Golden had 5 blocks.
The Lady Pioneers shot 40 percent from the floor and 30 percent from behind the three point line; they held Bluefield State to only 23 percent from the floor and 14 percent from behind the three point line.
The GSC defense also caused 33 turnovers and converted that into 36 points for the Lady Pioneers.
Bluefield was led by Charlene Diggs as she scored 13 points, while Kelli Morgan grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers are 11-5 on the season and 9-2 in WVIAC play, they will return to action on Wednesday, January 19th when they travel to Alderson-Broaddus with game time is set for 5:30PM.
