GSC Track & Field Competed at Lynchburg

The Glenville State College Men and Women’s track and field teams competed at Lynchburg College in the Dr. Jack M. Toms Invitational on Saturday, March 19th.

On the women’s side Meghan Ruddlesden placed 8th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.37, placed 7th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.53, and 5th in the long jump with a distance of 5.33 meters.

Candace Butler competed in the 5000 meter run and finished 14th with a time of 25:29.02. In the 3000 meter steeplechase Courtney Rzepka finished in 3rd with a time of 15:27.26 while Chelsea Stickelman placed 4th with a time of 15:44.98.
Danielle Perkins jumped 1.52 meters in the high jump as she placed 9th in the event. Tara Collins finished 4th in the pole vault with a height of 2.60 meters.
Alicia Cayton finished 13th in the shot put with a distance of 5.33 meters, also finished 13th in the discus throw with a distance of 30.45 meters, and placed 20th in the hammer throw with a distance of 27.03 meters.
Also in the shot put Kristen Golden came in 16th with a distance of 9.69 meters, Cindy Hillberry placed 27th in the shot put with a distance of 7.86 meters, and Olivia Ferrell finished 28th with a distance 4.84 meters.

On the men’s side Mario Wright placed 6th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.16, he placed 4th in the high jump with a height of 1.90 meters. Wright also finished 9th in the javelin throw.
Antwan Stewart finished 11th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.44 while Ronnie Mills also finished in 11th place, Joe Mesadieu came in 18th with a time of 11.60.
Claude Tindong also finished in 23rd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.70; he also finished 22nd in 200 meter dash with a time of 23.78.
In the 400 meter run Corey Ash came in 22nd with a time of 55.08. In the 5000 meter run Marlon Henry finished in 20th with a time of 18:04.42 and Chris Hunter finished in 21st with a time of 19:25.74.
Dustin Woods came in 5th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:17.87.
TJ Abel placed 4th in the 1500 meter run and finished 23rd in the 800 meter run.
GSC 4×100 meter relay team finished in 3rd place with a time of 43.03, the team consisted of Antwan Stewart, Adam Leonard, Joe Mesadieu, and Ronnie Mills.
Jordan Swiger placed 7th in the high jump, 8th in the triple jump, and 18th in the javelin throw. Jakhari Murphy came in 12th in the long jump with a distance of 6.13 meters.
Chris Freeman finished 6th in the shot put, 9th in the discus throw, and 9th in the hammer throw. While Mathew Porter finished 7th in the shot put, 16th in the discus throw, and 13th in the hammer throw.
The GSC Track & Field teams will return to action on March 25th when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit.
