The GSC Lady Pioneers defeated the Concord University Lady Mountain Lions Tuesday evening by a score of 106-99. The Lady pioneers found themselves down by 1, 98-97 with a minute and a half left in the game. At that point, the Lady Pioneers turned up the defense several notches and held the Lady Lions to only one point for the rest of the game while scoring 9 themselves.
Lady Pioneers Hold on to Down Concord Ladies
The Lady Pioneer defense turned the Lady Mountain Lions over 18 times which led to 25 points for GSC.
Tenisha Wilson led GSC with 26 points on 9 of 19 shooting; she also grabbed 8 rebounds and had 3 steals. Danielle Woodmore chipped in with 20 points as she also went 9 of 19 from the floor as well; in addition she also dished out 4 assists.
Senior Autumn Davis scored 12 points for the Lady Pioneers, while fellow senior Kristen Golden scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Concord was led by Jolysa Brown with 23 points. She also grabbed a game-high 9 rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers extended their winning streak to three games and will return to action on Saturday, December 11th as they take on Wheeling Jesuit at home. Tip-off is set for 5:30PM.
