Pioneers Make It Two Straight, Blast OSU-Newark


The GSC Pioneers made it two straight to open the season with a convincing 88-55 victory of Ohio State University – Newark (0-2), in day two of the GST Tipoff Classic hosted by Fairmont State.  Senior F Anthony Kimble lead the Pioneers with 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, as Glenville State (2-0) led from start to finish and have yet to trail this season.

For the 2nd straight game GSC had a bench player step up and contribute big numbers as Junior F Gabe Gibbs added 14 points and 9 rebounds.  Junior G Jamal Holden again nearly had a triple double chipping in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.

Senior G Chase Groves added 11 points and 7 assists for GSC, as they shot 50.7% from the field and connected on 8 of 20 from behind the arc.

Freshmen G Dusty Mullins scored 10 points his collegiate debut, in just 13 minutes.

Turrell Morris led all scorers with 25 points.  He also chipped in 14 rebounds.

The Pioneers would race out to a 16 point half time advantage, behind 11 points from Kimble.  Glenville State held the Titans to just 23% shooting in the 1st half.

GSC  out rebounded OSU-N 49 to 38 in the contest.
