The Glenville State Lady Pioneers avenged an early season loss by beating Alderson-Broaddus Monday night 86-68. The Lady Pioneers didn’t start the night off great; they got down 3-9 in the first half when Tori Charley made a layup. The Pioneers then scored the next 8 points to take a 10-9 led with 15:13 left in the first.

After that it was pretty much all Lady Pioneers from there. The Lady Pioneers were led by lone senior guard Donita Adams; she scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Tiffany Huffman also had a big game scoring 12 points for the Pioneers. Beth Deren chipped in with 10 points as well as Kristen Golden.
Suzi Harvey had a great rebounding game grabbing a team high 8 rebounds, and Miranda Reed led the team with 5 assists.
Alderson-Broaddus had three players score in double figures with Lauren Reed scoring 16 points for the Battlers.
The Lady Pioneers had an awful shooting night, shooting only 29 percent from the floor and shooting even worse from behind the arc, with 16 percent. The Lady Pioneers did however win the rebounding battle 62-59, and they also pulled out the victory.
With the win the Lady Pioneers improve their record to 16-8 overall and 14-6 in conference play. The Lady Pioneers return to action Thursday when Salem International invades Jesse R. Lilly Gym, tipoff is set for 5:30PM.
