The Glenville State College Women’s basketball team came away with a hard fought 91-82 victory at Davis and Elkins College on Saturday afternoon in Elkins.
The Pioneers were led by Junior Autumn Davis with 22 points. She shot 6 of 12 from behind the three point line. Donita Adams, a senior guard, had a good all-around performance going 5 of 13 from the floor and scoring 21 points, and grabbing a team high 7 rebounds on the afternoon.
Miranda Reed, who was celebrating a birthday, had a great game, scoring 15 points and grabbing 5 rebounds on the day.
The Pioneers shot 33 percent for the game while D&E shoot 40 percent; the Pioneers won the rebounding battle 59-53.
With the win it moves the Lady Pioneers into 3rd place in the WVIAC Conference, and with only 3 games left to play until the Conference Tournament, these last 3 games are very important.
A positive though for the Pioneers is that all three games are at home, and the Lady Pioneers are 7-1 this year playing at home.
The Lady Pioneers return to action on Monday, when Alderson-Broaddus invades Jesse R. Lilly Gym, tipoff is set for 5:30PM.
