GSC Pioneers Stunned by Southern Virginia, 107-105

The Glenville State Pioneers suffered a surprise setback Saturday at the hands of the Knights of Southern Virginia, 107-105.  Chase Groves led four Pioneers’ (3-5) reaching the 20 point mark as he had 24 points. Mykail Vibbert and Marcus Catney each scored 23 points.
SVU (3-5), who was lead by a game high 26 points from Bryce Pendleton , avenged a 22 point loss to the Pioneers just one week ago. Tanner Johnson added 22 and Chris Pendleton chipped in 21 for the Knights.
The Pioneers led the way for the first 37 minutes until a Tanner Johnson three gave the Knights the lead for good.
The Pioneers shot 51% from the field and 41% from behind the arc but were hampered by 22 turnovers. The game also saw a major free throw disparity as they Knights attempted 38 free throws to the Pioneers 17.
