(Glenville, WV) – The Glenville State College Pioneers defeated the Knights of Southern Virginia University, 112-90, in the consolation game of the GGPTS Tournament at Lilly Gymnasium. Guard Chase Groves’ had 28 points and Forward Mykail Vibbert added 27 for the Pioneers, who shot an outstanding 56% from the field and 46% from the arc. Guard Tryvan Leech added 22 pts on 8 of 12 shooting.
Deadlocked at 29 all with 8:10 remaining in the half, the Pioneers’ would put together a 27-12 run to end the half, and never look back. The 2nd half was much of the same as Glenville State extended the lead to as many as 29 points.
Glenville State held a +14 rebounding advantage and dominated the paint outscoring the Knights 60-20 on points in the paint.
The Pioneers return to action on December 4th when they travel to Athens, WV to take on the Concord Mountain Lions. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
