Augusta State fell to Glenville State 111-106, setting a school record for most combined points, on Saturday in the second and last day of the Lady Jaguar Tip-Off Classic in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Lady Pioneers improved to 1-1 overall, while the loss dropped ASU to 0-3 on the season.
The contest feature a school record for most combined points with 217. The previous record was 200 points, set during the 1998-99 season against Clayton State. Glenville State’s 111 points were also the most points allowed by Augusta State since 1984, when Georgia scored 107 on the Lady Jags.
Senior guard Brittany Jarrard led the Lady Jags with a career-high 25 points. Senior Eboni Davis netted 20 points, while senior Kirsten Stallings posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Blaire Egardo added 12 points.
For the Lady Pioneers, senior Donita Adams led the team with 20 points and eight rebounds, while junior Autumn Davis tallied 17 points. Junior Kristen Golden added 15 points and seven rebounds, and junior Miranda Reed had 14 points.
ASU shot 61.0 percent from the field and connected on 26-of-36 free throw attempts (72.2 percent), while limiting Glenville State to a 43.3 shooting percentage.
The Lady Pioneers shot 81.5 percent from the free throw line and had 34 points off the bench. Glenville State won the rebounding edge 42-40 and forced 29 ASU turnovers.
