Lady Pioneers Drop 3rd Straight

 

The Lady Pioneers dropped their third straight on the road tonight, 78-66, to Seton Hill to fall to 5-10 Overall and 3-6 in the WVIAC. Donita Adams broke out of her funk to record a double-double with a team leading 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mallory Menendez added 14 points and Kristen Golden chipped in 13.
The Lady Griffins were led by a game high 27 points and 12 rebounds from Katie Linter. Jordan Burkes added 19 points and Orit Farchi added 13 points and 13 assists as SHU improves to 9-7 Overall and 6-3 in the WVIAC.
The Pioneers would grab an early lead in the opening half as they used a 15-2 run covering 4:28 to jump out in from 19-10 with 11:12 remaining.
Seton Hill would answer right back with a monster run of their own. The 22-4 run would cover 6:36, and see the Griffins on top 32-23 with 4:26 to go.
An Adams’ layup would cut the deficit to seven, 39-32, at the intermission.
GSC would open the 2nd half with a 9-2 run to knot the game at 41 all just 2:05 into the 2nd half.
The Lady Griffs would then run a 12-3 run to push the lead up to nine and would never look back as the lead would swell to as many as 19 before settling on the final margin.
SHU outshot the Pioneers 49.2% to 40% and committed just 10 turnovers to GSC’s 16.
Glenville will look to break the losing skid this Thursday as they travel to Elkins to take on the Senators of Davis and Elkins. Tip Off is at 5:30 pm.
