Shooting Woes, Slow 2nd Half Start Spells Trouble For Lady Pioneers

Again the Lady Pioneers struggled from the field, on the boards and taking care of the basketball as they dropped one tonight, 87-68, to the Lake Erie College Storm. The Storm used a 19-4 run over the opening 4:37 of the 2nd half to put the contest out of reach.
The Pioneers were paced by Mallory Menendez’s game high 22 points. Christine DiSabato added 7 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds for GSC as they fall to 2-5 on the season. Sarah Harvey would chime in with 11 off the bench.
Renese Ames led the Lady Storm with 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting. Stephanie Rogers added 15 and Jen Caiola added 14 for the Lake Erie as the Division 2 Independent improved to 3-8 on the season.
The game saw two major runs, an 11-4 run to end the 1st half to put the Storm up by six at the break 41-35, and the previously mention 19-4 run which saw LEC score on eight of their first 10 possessions.
For the game GSC shot 36.1% percent from the field and 8 of 23 (34.8%) from beyond the arc.
The Storm held a 44-29 rebounding advantage over the Pioneers.
Glenville State returns to action this Thursday, as they travel to Salem to take on the Tigers of Salem International.
