The Glenville State Lady Pioneers could never get the offense going in Shepherdstown as they suffered a 63-35 loss to the host Lady Rams. The Lady Pioneers fall to 2-2 in the WVIAC while the Lady Rams move to 4-1 in conference action.
The Lady Pioneers to a 2-0 lead on their first possession of the game. However, it would be their only lead of the game. Shepherd scored the next six points to lead 6-2. The Lady Pioneers would hang close as they trailed only 16-10 at the 12:00 marl. The Lady Rams would then outscore the Lady Pioneers 21-9 over the reaminder of the half to lead 37-19 at intermission.
The host Lady Rams would open the second half with a 15-5 run to push their lead to 52-24 with 15 minutes to play. The Lady Pioneers would get no closer than 22 points at 56-34 at the six minute mark the rest of the way.
The Pioneers were woeful on offense as they converted only 27% of their field goals, including a two of 17 performance from the three-point line. They also posted only four assists to 23 turnovers in the contest and were outrebounded 45-40.
Individually, the lone double digit scorer was Donita Adams, who posted 15 points. Karina Kendrick, who suffered through an uncharacteristic zero for seven performance offensively, tallied a game-high nine rebounds.
The Lady Pioneers return to action on Monday night, January 14, 2008 at WV Wesleyan. Game time is set for 5:30pm.
