A different opponent, but an all too familiar outcome for the Lady Pioneers as they again feel victim to a big 2nd half run. Division 1 Liberty University (9-1) used a 14-2 run to open the second half to pull way and defeat Glenville State, 66-54, this afternoon to hand the Pioneers their fourth straight loss.
Lady Pioneers Fall to Liberty University, 66-54
The Lady Flames were led by a game high 17 points from Megan Frazee and Moriah Frazee chipped in 12 points.
The Pioneers (3-4) were paced by 13 points from both Karina Kendrick and Donita Adams. Freshman Kristen Golden, who was saddled with two early 1st half fouls, scored all 11 of her points in the 2nd period.
Glenville State again was plagued by poor outside shooting, as they made just 4 of 20 3pt. attempts. They also had trouble keeping the taller Flames off the boards, as they were outrebounded, 42-31.
For the game LU would shoot 41% from the field, 11% from the 3pt line (1 of 9) and 83% from the line.
After a Kristen Golden layup would cut the lead to 36-31, the Frazee’s would take over as Megan and Moriah would each score a quick four points to push the lead to 13. The lead would extend to 19 as the Pioneers turned the ball over on six of their nine possessions to start the 2nd half.
