The #13 Glenville State Lady Pioneers dropped their third straight, a 84-75 setback Saturday night at the hands of the St. Cloud State University Huskies. Senior Karina Kendrick recorded her 4th double-double on the season as she had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Huskies were paced by four double digits, led by Talisha Barlow’s 19 points off the bench and Rachel Booth added 18 points.
St. Cloud State started the game running and quickly built a 11 point lead at 15-4 with 14:54 to go in the 1st half. The Lady Pioneers would then get things in gear, and rattle off a 16-4 run to grab a one point lead with 8:34 to play. GSC would push the lead to four, before a quick Husky spurt would tie the game at 27 all with just under four minutes remaining in the half.
Just like Friday nights’ loss to UND, the wheels would fall off for the Lady Pioneers as they headed to halftime. St. Cloud would run off a 14-4 run over the last 3:56 to take a 41-31 lead into the break.
Glenville State was unable to put much pressure on the Huskies in the 2nd half, as the St. Cloud lead would swell to as many as 17 before a late Pioneer run would give you your final score.
The Lady Huskies, who shot 51% from the field and 43%percent from behind the arc, held a 54-30 advantage on points in the point.
The Lady Pioneers shot 42% from the field and 36% from the three point line.
GSC returns to action next Saturday, December 15 as they will travel to take on Liberty. Tipoff is 2 p.m.
