For Immediate Release:
August 2, 2011
On Friday, August 19th, Glenville State College will welcome the arrival of more than 350 new students for the 2011-2012 school year. Approximately 1,900 students are expected to be enrolled for classes at GSC this fall which begin on Monday, August 21st.
To help these new students learn about the Glenville community including local businesses, churches, and other groups that might interest them, GSC is hosting a “Community & Campus Picnic.”
The event will take place on Sunday, August 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the Clark Hall lawn. Community businesses, churches, and organizations are invited to set up displays to introduce and promote themselves to the new students through the use of coupons, gift certificates, free samples, and information. The Community & Campus Picnic is a great opportunity to introduce these new Pioneers to what the community can offer them during their experience at Glenville State College.
Any business, church, or local organization that is interested in participating in the picnic should reserve a table by Wednesday, August 17th. Anyone who wishes to reserve a table is encouraged to do so as soon as possible to avoid being left without a space. To reserve a table or for additional information, contact GSC Student Activities Director Roxanne Bright at (304) 462-6412.
