Glenville, WV – The kickoff event for Glenville State College’s next Relay for Life will take place on Monday, September 19th at 7:00 p.m. “I hope to see this year’s event bigger and better than last year! There are so many people affected by cancer at our school, and I hope we can get their involvement. The reason that I Relay is so that one day the definition of cancer is no longer a death sentence,” said GSC Relay for Life Chair Melissa Pursley.
The festivities are being held in the Rusty Musket cyber café in the Mollohan Campus Community Center (MCCC) in conjunction with Bingo, a Pioneer Activities and Campus Events (P.A.C.E.) function. The bingo prizes will have a circus theme to go along with this year’s Relay for Life theme, ‘Don’t Clown Around with Cancer.’
“After beating cancer earlier this year, I am proud to Relay for myself. I am excited to be part of the planning of this year’s event and hope to see many students, organizations, faculty, and staff involved,” said GSC Director of P.A.C.E. Roxanne Bright.
The 2012 GSC Relay for Life event will take place in April. A planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27th at 12:30 p.m. in MCCC Room 311. For more information, contact Bright at Roxanne.Bright@glenville.edu or (304) 462-6412.
