Lady Pioneers Fall to UPJ 3-0

Johnstown, PA – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers volleyball team fell to the University of Pitt-Johnstown Tuesday night in three games.

The Lady Pioneers fell in game one 12-25, game two 11-25, and game three 16-25.

Jamie Schindel led GSC in kills with nine on the night, while Heather Stout finished with seven and Rikki Butler finished with five. Schindel also recorded a service ace on the night.

MacKenize Willneff led the Lady Pioneers in digs with 11. Schindel recorded eight digs while Stout finished with seven digs.

Jamie Schindel, Ella Messinger, Rikki Butler, and Heather Stout all recorded a solo block.

Pitt-Johnstown was led by Jessica Heidenthal with 12 kills while Beth Kendera recorded 10 kills in the game. Kayla Petrilla led UPJ in digs with 10 while Kelsey Kohler finished with a game high 11 digs.

The Lady Pioneers had 17 errors in the game while UPJ only had eight errors. The Lady Pioneers will return to action on Friday when Fairmont State travels to Glenville. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
