Jamie Schindel gets a clean hit on Friday night against Notre Dame of Cleveland

Glenville, WV – In front of a packed house the Lady Pioneers volleyball team gave a great effort but fell short to Notre Dame of Cleveland three games to one.

The Pioneers lost game one 29-27 but battled back to win game two 25-21. The Lady Pioneers needed game three but came up short as they fell 22-25 and Notre Dame of Cleveland closed the Lady Pioneers out as they won game four 25-22.

MacKenzie Willneff led the Lady Pioneers in kills with 17 while teammate Jamie Schindel recorded 11 kills. Stefanie Gladders had 30 assist on the night while Ella Messinger had 11 assists.

MacKenzie also had a good game serving as she recorded four serve aces while Heather Stout led the Lady Pioneers in digs with 12.

Notre Dame of Cleveland was led by Brianne Schmansky with 13 kills while Chandler Mass recorded 30 assist on the night.

The Lady Pioneers will return to action Saturday, October 8th as they will battle Shaw University and West Liberty University in a tri-match. Games begin at 11:00AM.
