Wheeling, WV – The GSC Men’s golf team finished in 11th place at the WVAIC Northern Regional this past Sunday, October 9th and Monday, October 10th.
WLU won the two-day event that covered 7,001 yards and was a par-71 course with a total of 597. The Hilltoppers’ Joey Seabright also won the individual title by shooting a four-under, 138. Teammate Ryan Thomson posted a three-over par, 145 for second place.
Concord placed second with a 616. The Mountain Lions earned their second-place finish in a tie-breaker with Davis & Elkins. The University of Charleston was fourth after finishing with a 617 while Pitt-Johnstown’s 633 rounded out the top five.
Bluefield State placed sixth (644) while West Virginia Wesleyan finished seventh (646). Fairmont State (649), Wheeling Jesuit (654) and Shepherd (668) were eighth through 10th, respectively.
Glenville State (677), West Virginia State (699) and Ohio Valley (709) completed the field
GSC’s Matt Metz finished overall 19th; he shot an 80 on day one and a 78 on day two giving him a 158 overall. Alen Bruce place 45th shooting a 170 while Brandon Dolan finished with a 173 overall.
Trey Meeks came in 53rd with a 177 overall and Trae Sprague finished 6oth shooting a 186 overall.
