Davis, WV – The Wheeling Jesuit Women’s golf team added to its first-round lead to claim the 2011-2012 WVIAC Women’s Golf Championship by 22 strokes over Seton Hill.
The Cardinals were led by Julie Hirauk’s two-round total of 152. The Cardinals shot a two-round total 659 and were followed by Seton Hill (681), West Virginia Wesleyan (683) and Concord (687), respectively. Ohio Valley (694) rounded out the top five.
West Liberty finished sixth (717) while Fairmont State placed seventh (794). Glenville State finished eighth (941) and West Virginia State came in ninth (1039).
The Lady Pioneers were led by Sammi Moore as she finished overall with a 162 which was good enough for her to finish in fifth place and receive WVIAC Conference honors.
Alex Fitzwater finished 33rd with a score of 200, while Morgan Talbot finished with a 249 coming in 42nd. Cindy Hillberry rounded out GSC as she shot a 330 coming in 48th.
Congratulations to the GSC Lady Pioneers on a great 2011 fall season and we will look forward to seeing them in the spring.
