Highland Heights, KY – The Glenville State men’s basketball team picked up their first win of the 2011-12 season as they defeated UC Clermont 82-63.
The Pioneers got off to a quick start as they took a 12-4 lead in the early minutes of the first half and never looked back.
UC Clermont made a couple of runs but however it was no match for the Pioneers as claimed an 82-63 victory.
The Pioneers shot 43 percent from the floor while UC Clermont shot 40 percent. It also was the same story from behind the arc as the Pioneers out shot UC Clermont 44 to 33 percent.
The Pioneers also managed to win the battle of the boards as they out rebounded UC Clermont 42 to 37.
GSC was led by Kevin Gray with a game high 24 points while Jamel Morris scored 20 points on the night.
Trask Ivey also scored in double figures as he scored 10 points. Chris Abney pulled down a game high 13 rebounds and also added eight points for the Pioneers. Andy Dollman led GSC in assists with four.
UC Clermont was led by Devin Bartlett with 16 points while Darwin Tolliver scored 14 points. Scott Dieble also chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Pioneers will take the court tomorrow Saturday, November 19th as they look to continue the win streak when they battle Northern Kentucky.
