Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers lost a hard fought game to Concord University on Tuesday night as the Mountain Lions picked up a 103-94 win.
The Mountain Lions jumped out to an early lead as Jolysa Brown hit a layup making it 11-2 Concord, but the relentless play by the Lady Pioneers only saw them down by four, 52-48, heading into halftime.
In the second half the Mountain Lions continued their good play as they went up 66-59 over GSC.
The Lady Pioneers would continue to fight back as they came from 10 points down to take their first lead of the game at the 3:33 mark 92-91 when senior Beth Deren drilled a three pointer.
GSC would eventually give up the lead at the 1:40 mark as Amanda Smith made two free throws as Concord claimed a 103-94 win.
GSC was led by Tenisha Wilson as she scored a game high 25 points; she also grabbed 10 rebounds as she recorded a double double.
Mishae Miles also recorded a double double as she scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Danielle Woodmore scored 14 points for the Lady Pioneers and dished out five assist, while Beth Deren and Jelena Elez both chipped in with 10 points each.
Concord was led by Andrea Bertrand as she dropped 25 points while Jolysa Brown scored 23 points.
Camisha Alexander scored 20 points, with Amanda Smith and Anna Truckley both scoring 14 a piece.
The Lady Pioneers will play this Saturday, November 26th at home when Bowie State travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 2:00PM
