Glenville, WV – The Glenville State men’s basketball team fell to Concord University by a score of 66-90 in their home opener Tuesday night.
The Pioneers were looking good in the early minutes of the first half as they were tied with Concord at 28 a piece.
Knotted at 28 all Concord would go on a 21 to 4 run to end the first half as they took a commanding 50-32 lead into halftime.
The Pioneers would try to get back in it in the second half but could only pull within 14 points as Concord cruised to a 90-66 win.
GSC was led by freshman Jamel Morris with 19 points while Kevin Gray added 11 points, five assists, and a team high seven rebounds.
Mark Walker chipped in with 10 points for GSC.
Concord was led by Romel Kemp with 24 points and eight rebounds while teammate Cory Willard scored 21 points on 6 of 10 shooting.
Mike Boyd led the Mountain Lions with seven assists.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday, November 26th when they travel to Virginia State.
