Johnstown, PA – The GSC Lady Pioneers basketball traveled to Johnstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday and walked away with a 114-88 win over WVIAC foe Pitt-Johnstown.
The teams battled back and fourth in the early minutes of the game but at the 10:42 mark after a jumper from Tenisha Wilson the Lady Pioneers never looked back as they ran away with the victory.
GSC biggest lead in the game was 32 points and they never trailed after the 10:42 mark in the first half.
The Lady Pioneers had five players score in double figures with Danielle Woodmore leading the way with 28 points. Tenisha Wilson scored 19 points for GSC while Mishae Miles scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as she recorded her fourth double double of the year.
Jelena Elez and Ginny Petties both chipped in with 12 points each. Elez also dished out a team high five assist while Aesha Peters scored only seven points but pulled down 16 rebounds.
Pitt-Johnstown was led by Kaitlynn Fratz with 34 points while Sara Trimarco scored 15 points and dished out seven assists. Kelsey Sleighter chipped in with 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
GSC improves to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play on the year.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Thursday, December 8th when they travel to Institute, West Virginia to battle West Virginia State University. Tip-off is set for 7:00PM.
