Johnstown, PA – The Glenville State College men’s basketball team fell to the University of Pitt-Johnstown by a final of 79-86.
Pitt-Johnstown took an early three point lead at the 15:20 mark after Patrick Grubbs made a layup making it 12-9.
The Pioneers came right back and retook the lead at the 12:17 mark as Kevin Gray drilled a three-pointer for GSC as the Pioneers went up by four 20-16.
The Pioneers then went on an eight to five run as they took a took a 46-43 lead heading into the half.
In the second half Pitt-Johnstown came out on fire retook the lead at the 16:16 mark 52-51.
Both teams battled back and fourth through out the second half, but at the 1:58 mark tied at 74 all Pitt-Johnstown went on a nine to five run and went on to defeat GSC 86-79.
The Pioneers were led by Kevin Gray with 29 points while freshman Jamel Morris scored 24 points.
Mark Walker recorded a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Andy Dollman scored 10 points and handed out six assists.
Pitt-Johnstown was led by Nick Novak with 30 points and dished out five assists while Patrick Grubbs scored 18 points and nine rebounds.
Jordan Miller chipped in with 13 points for UPJ.
The Pioneers return to the court next Saturday when they travel to Harrogate, Tennessee as they battle Lincoln Memorial. Game time is set for 7:00PM.
