Harrogate, TN – The Pioneers men’s basketball team fell to Lincoln Memorial Saturday night on the road by a final of 47-87.
The Pioneers took an early three point lead in the first half when Andy Dollman drilled a three but Lincoln Memorial came right back and hit a three of their own as Cam Carden tied it at three a piece.
After that tie it was all Lincoln Memorial from there on out as the Pioneers tried to get back into but fell 47-87.
The Pioneers committed 18 turnovers on the night as Lincoln Memorial converted that into 31 points.
GSC was also dominated in the lane as they were outscored 58 to 8. Lincoln Memorial also had a big advantage off the bench as they had 31 bench points to GSC’s 8.
Lincoln Memorial out rebounded the Pioneers 43 to 28.
The Pioneers shot an insignificant 26 percent from the floor and 26 percent from behind the arc while Lincoln Memorial shot 57 percent from the floor and 28 percent from behind the arc.
GSC had three players score in double figures. With Andy Dollman and Jamel Morris both scoring 12 points a piece. Morris also pulled down a team high six rebounds while Dollman dished out four assists.
Kevin Gray chipped in with 11 points while Janko Popovic scored five points.
Lincoln Memorial was led by Jake Troyli as he scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Brandon Armstrong scored 12 points and dished out seven assists while Justin Allen chipped in with 10 points.
The Pioneers return to action December 30th when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit. Tip-off is set for 7:00PM.
