Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers exploded in the second half as they scored 52 points to down Shepherd University 91-78.
After the Lady Pioneers took a 39-36 halftime led they came out in the second half ready to make a run and that is exactly what they did.
GSC would push out to a 16 point lead in the second half as they cruised to a 91-78 victory.
The Lady Pioneers were led by Tenisha Wilson’s 25 points and eight rebounds. Beth Deren connected for 12 points while Kenyell Goodson and Ginny Petties each had 11. GSC pulled down 56 boards in the game, 27 of which were on the offensive glass.
Katie Biggs scored 19 and had a game-high 13 rebounds for the Rams. Jenn Prine tallied 14 points and five assists while Rachel Johnson posted 13. Emily Daniel also reached double figures with 10 points.
GSC’s defense also caused 34 turnovers which they converted into 27 points on the night.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Saturday, January 7th when West Liberty travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 2:00PM.
