Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers outscored the West Liberty Hilltoppers 57 to 42 in the second half in a 106-77 route.
The Lady Pioneers started out slow as they were tied at 6 a piece in the early minutes of the game.
The Lady Pioneers turned it on at the 16:31 mark as they went on a 12 point run to take an 18-6 with 14:19 left to play in the first half.
West Liberty tried to get back into the game but could not cut into lead as GSC took a 14 point lead 49-35 at halftime.
It was all Lady Pioneers in the second as they flew away for the Hilltoppers as they won 106-77.
The Lady Pioneers defense caused 31 turnovers while they only committed seven on the night. GSC turned those turnovers into 36 points on the night.
GSC had four players score in double figures with Tenisha Wilson leading the way with 22 points; she also had a game high seven steals. Daneille Woodmore scored 20 points, while Mishae Miles scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as she grabbed a double double.
Kenyell Goodson chipped in with 12 points while Aesha Peters had a good game as she scored 9 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
West Liberty was led Kayla Ayers as grabbed a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Hillary Southworth scored 15 points while Emily Blevins scored 14 points, and Jenn Cessna chipped in with 10 points.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Monday when they travel to Charleston, West Virginia to take on the University of Charleston. Game time is set for 6:00PM.
