Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball team broke open a huge lead as they defeated the Alderson-Broaddus Lady Battlers on Tuesday evening at Jesse R. Lilly Gym 108-50. GSC got off to a slow start, but went on a 23 point run midway through the first half as they broke open a huge lead on Alderson-Broaddus. The Lady Pioneer took a 46-14 lead into halftime.
In the second half it was all Lady Pioneers as they out scored the Lady Battlers 62 to 36 as they pick up a huge victory over Alderson-Broaddus 108-50.
The Pioneers defense forced 32 turnovers and converted them into 41 points. The defense also didn’t allow any Lady Battlers to score in double figures.
GSC had five players score in double figures in the win. Mishae Miles tallied 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Kenyell Goodson also had 18 points. Ginny Petties put in 13 points while Madison Martin and Tenisha Wilson each scored 12 points. Wilson also recorded eight rebounds, six steals, and four assists.
The Pioneers drilled 19 three-pointers in the game.
Alderson-Broaddus was led by Amanda Peoples as she scored eight points and seven rebounds. Ciara Riggleman added six points on the night.
The Lady Pioneers have a week off until they return to action on Thursday, January 26th when Fairmont State travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 5:30PM.
