Glenville, WV – The GSC men’s basketball team picked up a huge home victory over rival Fairmont State Thursday evening by a score of 80-59.
The Pioneers jumped out to a 13 point lead 23-10 at the 10:48 mark in the first half after Octavius Hinnant drilled a three-pointer. GSC would eventually head into halftime with a 38-27 lead.
In the second half it was all GSC as they dominated Fairmont State. The Pioneers would build a 25 point lead in the second half and end up winning by 21 points 80-59.
Kevin Gray led GSC with 26 points, scoring 21 of them in the first half. Nate Cash also had a monster night as he scored 16 points and grabbed a game high 15 rebounds for a double double. Cash also had three monstrous dunks on the night.
Andy Dollman chipped in with 13 points and dished out four assists.
Fairmont State was led by Steve Custis with 20 points and six rebounds while Isaac Thornton scored 18 points.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday at home when the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals come calling. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM. Also don’t forget to wear black for the BLACK OUT!
