Glenville, WV – The Lady Pioneers defeated the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Saturday afternoon at Jesse R. Lilly Gymnasium by 27 points, 99-72.
Wheeling Jesuit scored the first two points of the game as the Cardinals took a quick 2-0 lead, but that would be the Cardinals only lead as the Lady Pioneers dominated through out the rest of the game.
The Lady Pioneers defense caused 20 turnovers while GSC only committed 13. GSC would turn the Cardinals turnovers into 20 points.
GSC also controlled the paint as they out scored the Cardinals 40 to 26.
The Lady Pioneers were led by Tenisha Wilson as she scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double on the afternoon. Beth Deren also scored 15 points as she drilled five three point baskets while Ginny Petties scored 15 points.
Mishae Miles also had a double-double as she scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Danielle Woodmore handed out a game high 12 assist.
Wheeling Jesuit was led by Cassy Sanderson as she scored 17 points. Emily Robinson scored 13 points while Taneka Lewis scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Erica Schultz also chipped in with 11 points.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Wednesday, February 1st when Davis & Elkins travels to Jesse R. Lilly Gym. Tip-off is set for 5:30PM.
