Glenville, WV – The Glenville State Lady Pioneers basketball team won their sixth straight game on Wednesday night as they defeated the Davis & Elkins Senators by 29 points as they ran away with a 96-67 victory.
In the early minutes of the first half the GSC and D&E went back and fourth trading baskets but at the 12:00 minute mark the Lady Pioneers hit their stride as they would out score the Senators 30 to 21 as GSC took a 46-30 led into the half.
In the second half it was all Lady Pioneers from there on out as they cruised to a huge victory over 96-67.
GSC was paced by Tenisha Wilson as she scored 22 points. Ginny Petties had a huge night as well as she scored 17 points.
Beth Deren chipped in with 13 points while Kenyell Goodson scored 11 points. Mishae Miles also scored in double figures as she went for 10 points and grabbed a game high 14 rebounds as she recorded another double double.
Jelena Elez led GSC in assists with six. The Lady Pioneers defense forced 24 turnovers and converted them into 22 points on the night.
Davis & Elkins was led by Rachel Gostomski as she scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while Maquasia Ferebee chipped in with 13 points.
GSC returns to action this Saturday, February 4th when they travel to Greensburg, PA as they take on Seton Hill. Game time is set for 4:00PM.
