Glenville, WV – The Pioneers basketball team defeated the Bluefield State Big Blues on Thursday night by 30 points, 86-56.
The Pioneers got off to a 10 point lead at the 7:08 mark in the first half 25-15, GSC then extended the lead to 19 points as they headed into halftime.
In the second half it was all Pioneers as they dominated the Big Blues for all 40 minutes as they went on to a 30 point win, 86-56.
GSC shot 54 percent from the floor while Bluefield State shot 35 percent. The Pioneers also out rebounded the Big Blues 47 to 23 in the game.
The Pioneers had six players score in double figures with Kevin Gray leading the way with 14 points as he drilled four three pointers in the game, he also grabbed six rebounds. Jamel Morris scored 13 points and grabbed a game high nine rebounds.
Andy Dollman came off the bench to score 14 points for GSC, while Seth Wimbish scored 13 points as he drilled two three pointers in the game. Janko Popovic and Mark Walker both chipped in with 10 points each.
Chase Morgan scored 15 points on the night while Roy Cooper scored 13 points. Daven Morris scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday when they travel to West Liberty to take on the Hilltoppers. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
