West Liberty, WV – The Glenville State men’s basketball team lost a hard fought game to the West Liberty Hilltoppers 88-103.
The Hilltoppers jumped out to a 9-0 lead at the 17:42 mark, West Liberty would later extend their lead to 11 points 23-34 at the 10:21 mark.
GSC would cut into the lead at the 3:48 mark of first half as they pulled within five points 41-46, but the Hilltoppers would end up taking a 59-45 lead into halftime.
In the second half GSC would try to cut into the lead but would only get as close as nine points at the 2:11 mark 85-96. West Liberty would go on to win the game 103-88.
Kevin Gray had a great game for GSC as he led all scores with 29 points. Andy Dollman scored 15 points while Jamel Morris dropped 14 points. Octavius Hinnant chipped in with 13 points while Nate Cash just missed a double double as he scored eight points and grabbed a team high 13 rebounds.
West Liberty was led by Alex Falk with 28 points and seven assists. CJ Hester scored 18 points and grabbed a game high 17 rebounds for a double double. Cedric Harris scored 17 points while Tim Hausfeld scored 16 points.
The Pioneers will return to action this Wednesday when West Virginia State travels to Glenville. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
