The Office of Technology is secured from public access due to security issues and the sensitive nature of the equipment and the data located in this Office.  This is consistent with the requirements of Technology offices at institutions and companies throughout the country.

If you need access to one of the Technology Staff, please call, or come to the Office of Technology Help Desk (located off the South stairwell of Louis Bennett Hall). If you need special assistance, please call ext. 6140 or 304-462-4106 for an appointment, and we will be happy to allow you admittance through the North access door (located in the hallway down from the Department of Teacher Education).

If you have a class on the 3rd floor of LBH, please use the South stairwell or the elevator on the 1st floor of the Academic Support Center.

For student use we have labs with networked PCs that are connected to the Internet. These labs are also used for classroom training and are housed in different buildings on the main campus . The labs on the main campus are located in several areas throughout Glenville State College campus.

Glenville State College provides free local area network (LAN) and wireless connections for students. To connect, students will need a network card, sometimes referred to as a NIC-10/100 Ethernet card, and a CAT5 patch cable (this is a special cable to connect the computer to the wall access plate) or a wireless card. Students cannot connect with a dial-up and a modem at GSC.

The Office of Technology strongly recommends that students purchase a surge protector designed for computer use.
