Glenville State Football Schedule Announced

The Mountain East Conference has had a lot of hype but none more than the release of its inaugural football season. Glenville’s slate will include many old foes and rivals from the old West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference but will also include some new opponents. After dismantling the top ranked team in the state of Pennsylvania, the Lady Pioneers suffered their first loss of the season against a weaker Pennsylvania foe. The Lady Pioneers hit the road to California University of Pennsylvania to take on the Lady Vulcans. The Glenville State Lady Pioneers tipped off their season against out-of-conference foe, Virginia Union, at home this past Friday. Both sides kept the score close the entire gamewith several lead changes as the Lady Pioneers hung on for a 90-83 victory. Well it wasn’t pretty but the Glenville State men are above .500 for the first time this season. After finishing the preseason with a loss to Division 1 power WVU, the Pioneers are ready for the regular season to begin. After the loss Head Coach Stephen Dye remained upbeat for the upcoming season and it is easy to see why given the opposition. “[Going to WVU] was good for the program and the school.
